Conference Deadlines, Conference Opportunities
September 15, 2011
I hope that everyone has marked their calendars for February 27 - March 1 for our 19th Annual Conference, which will be back in Sacramento this year. Sacramento is always fun because we can combine the conference with Advocacy Week and get charter school staff in to share their stories with legislators. You can find all the information you need at www.charterconference.org. Remember, it is never too early to register and early birds get the best deals!
Call for Presentations
An important part of our conference is our breakout sessions and charter leaders and staff love to hear from other charter schools. You don't have to be a perfect or a mature charter school to present. Charters leaders want to hear the real story and how other leaders are looking at challenges and dealing with them, as much as they want to hear about what is working well. Our breakout sessions are a good time for charters to honestly share how things are going in the charter community, both successes and challenges. We are looking for academic, governance and fiscal practices to be shared. If you have a creative, innovative, successful practice or challenge that you are currently dealing with, that others might benefit from hearing please consider submitting a proposal. The process is pretty simple, only a page. You can find all the details here. Don't delay, the deadline is Friday, October 7th.
