Help Us Pack the LAUSD Board Room on August 30

August 18, 2011 Steve Zimmer's resolution to fundamentally change the Public School Choice (PSC) process will go up for action at the LAUSD board meeting on August 30, 2011. The resolution gives preference to in-district PSC proposals at all new school sites, effectively pushing out charter applicants and community organizations. Read more about the resolution.

We have been in touch with the various board members and do not believe there is currently enough support for the resolution to pass. However, it is extremely important that there is a strong showing of opposition to this resolution at the meeting. UTLA is planning to pack the board room with its supporters and use this opportunity to continue pushing against Green Dot taking over management of Clay Middle School. If you are able to come out in support and plan to mobilize your school community, please contact Sara Hernandez.
