Anahuacalmecac International Preparatory High School of North America (Anahuacalmecac) is featured in a first-of-its-kind research report recently issued by the National Urban Indian Family Coalition (NUIFC) that highlights challenges facing urban Native American youth in public schools and the alternative public education programs addressing these challenges.

Anahuacalmecac was asked to participate in the study because of the school's close collaboration with the local Los Angeles Native American Indian Commission. The report is comprised of a literature review, a review of data from six urban American Indian population centers and school site visits. The report explores the systemic educational changes needed for American Indian communities and children. View the kick-off webinar here and read the full report here.

NUIFC advocates for American Indian families living in urban areas by creating partnerships with tribes, as well as other American Indian organizations, and by conducting research to better understand the barriers, issues, and opportunities facing urban American Indian families. Learn more:
