Three San Diego-area schools recently proved there's strength in numbers. After receiving unsatisfactory initial Prop. 39 facilities offers from the San Diego Unified School District, school leaders from Thrive, Kavod and KIPP charter schools strategically collaborated with each other and went to the School Board in April as a unified force to request revisions to their offers.

Supported by CCSA's Regional Advocacy and Facilities teams, the group then worked behind the scenes with district leaders to demonstrate the need for additional space for their kids. As a result, district staff revised the schools' Prop. 39 offers and the SDUSD board unanimously approved final offers, either giving the three schools additional space to meet their needs or discussing future options to help address their long-term facilities needs.
