Keep Up the Momentum After National Charter Schools Week!
May 5, 2017
Throughout the day, attendees heard from Assemblymember Blanca Rubio (D-48) about the role charter schools play in the public education system, as well as met with legislators to advocate for urgent legislative priorities and discuss some of the most pressing issues facing the charter community. Additionally, attendees celebrated the California Legislative Black Caucus as Assemblymember Dr. Shirley Weber (D-79) accepted CCSA's Legislator of the Year Hart Vision Award on their behalf for their support in leading the charge against the NAACP to reject their resolution calling for a moratorium on charter public schools across the United States.
Though National Charter Schools week is over, there are still opportunities to keep the momentum going. Check out this toolkit of resources and ideas from CCSA and the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
