The Advisory Commission on Special Education (ACSE) is now accepting applications for the 2015-16 Grazer Outstanding Achievement in Learning (GOAL) award. Established by the ACSE with financial support from Hollywood producer Brian Grazer and his family, the GOAL award recognizes and rewards innovative and replicable best practices for students with disabilities in the State of California. The GOAL award can be given to any local educational agency, school, school-system, initiative, program, or practice (hereby referred to as "a Program") that results in positive outcomes for students with disabilities.

Recent winners include the CHIME Institute's Schwarzenegger Community School for its unique model of inclusive education and the Collaborative Mentoring Program at Kastner Intermediate School in the Clovis Unified School District in Fresno, CA.

Aside from being featured during a televised ACSE meeting, the winning program will also receive a monetary award.

Additional information, including the application form, may be found on the California Department of Education, Grazer Outstanding Achievement in Learning web page here.

The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. on December 11, 2015.
