(Los Angeles, CA) - On Wednesday, May 14, more than 200 parents representing charter schools throughout South L.A. and the rest of Board District 1 will gather at a candidate forum hosted by CCSA Families, which is part of the California Charter Schools Association. Five of the seven candidates running for the open seat on the LAUSD Board will seek to set themselves apart in a race whose outcome is wide open. (The two other candidates were invited but have not confirmed participation in the event.) Parents, teachers and community members will hear from the candidates and get the chance to ask them about important education issues facing families and children, including whether candidates support the expansion of high quality charter schools.
