(Los Angeles, CA) - Tomorrow, May 10th, as many as 500 parents will rally for a new charter school in West Adams. Parents whose students attend two small elementary/middle schools in the neighborhood have found an abandoned facility that they want to turn into a new school that would house all of the students under one roof. But the local neighborhood council has ignored their request, preferring to let the building remain vacant. So parents are rallying to vote for new neighborhood council members who will support their new school. Parents will gather in the morning and then head to the nearby polling place to vote and make their voices heard, to ensure that their children receive the education environment they deserve. The rally is co-sponsored by CCSA Families, a part of the California Charter Schools Association, which supports the growth of high quality charter schools.
