Sneak Peek at March 8 Conference Activities

The 18th Annual California Charter Schools Conference is officially underway!

Our Opening General Session starts Tuesday (March 8) at 8:30 a.m. sharp in Ballroom 6. The opener includes our Hart Vision Awards for Teacher and Volunteer of the Year. California Charter Schools Association President and CEO Jed Wallace will offer his thoughts on the state of the movement, and former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan will be honored as our Hart Vision Supporter of the Year.

Other Tuesday Highlights:

We will kick off our all-new Online Learning offering with an Online Learning Expo in the Exhibit hall from 10 -10:30 a.m.

Our breakout program starts at 10:45 a.m. with sessions focused on the needs of charter schools.

We will kick off our Board Governance Summit at 10:45 a.m. with a play entitled "The Worst Board Meeting Ever," starring Ting Sun from Natomas Charter School, Cameron Curry from The Classical Academies and Brad Koepenick from the CHAMPS Charter School.

The CMO/Networked Schools Working Group also starts at 10:45 a.m.

At 12:45 p.m, visit the Technology/Green Schools Expo in the Exhibit Hall.

The all-new Teacher Expo starts at 3:45 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall. Besides poster sessions focused on the needs of teachers, we will also be offering complimentary mini-massages and mini-manicures as a special thank you for our hardworking charter school teachers.

The Tuesday Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall and is always one of our most popular events. At 6:30 p.m., there will be extended networking events hosted by our Presenting Sponsor CK-12, the Los Angeles Special Education Improvement Authority and the Charter & Autonomous School Leadership Academy (CASLA).
