SACRAMENTO, California (January 3, 2011)

Jed Wallace, President and CEO of the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA), released the following statement on the inauguration of Governor Jerry Brown

"The California Charter Schools Association wishes to congratulate Governor Jerry Brown on becoming California's 39th Governor today. His leadership and commitment to education will surely mark a new era for our state."

"As we start a new year, the Association and our member charter schools are aware of the challenges we face, particularly regarding the state budget. We are fully committed to working collaboratively with Governor Brown and his Administration to ensure that charter schools continue to thrive in California, as they have over the last decade, and extend high-quality education opportunities to all students."

"The California Charter Schools Association will continue to advocate for charter schools on key priority areas such as funding equity, facilities, and academic accountability. We look forward to partnering with Governor Brown and his administration on these and other critical issues."
