Univision Shines the Spotlight on Charters in L.A.

Charter schools will take center stage tomorrow, August 11, 2010, on the number one-rated Spanish-language news channel, Univision Los Angeles. Reporter Ceciia Bogran will be interviewing Caminio Nuevo Charter Academy Principal Ana Ponce, as well as Myrna Castrejón, Senior Vice President with the California Charter Schools Association, about the opening of Jose Castellanos, a school opening as part of the Public School Choice education reformation and transformation process in the Los Angeles Unified School District. In addition, charter school growth and the strength of the movement will be discussed.

The segments will air live every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on KMEX in Los Angeles, and from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Telefutura L.A. Univision viewers throughout the state will be able to watch the first hour (5 a.m. to 6 a.m.) on their local station.
