Save the Date: California Science Test Academy for Educators
To support implementation of the California Science Test (CAST), the California Department of Education is partnering with Educational Testing Service and WestEd to offer a one-day CAST Academy for local educational agency (LEA) science educators. The CAST Academy will help participants develop a deeper understanding of the assessment design and expectations of the CAST, as well as provide information and activities to assist educators in their understanding and implementation the California Next Generation Science Standards and three-dimensional learning.
CCSA Hosting Webinar on Legislation to Secure Equitable Funding for the Lowest Performing Subgroup
Join us on Thursday, March 22 from 11 am to noon to hear from incoming CCSA Board Chair Margaret Fortune about AB 2635, CCSA’s sponsored legislation authored by Assemblymember Shirley Weber, Autumn Burke, and Mike Gipson. This legislation will provide additional funding and require greater accountability from K-12 public schools in support of the lowest performing subgroup of students in the state outside of students with special needs, which continues to be African American students.

The spring 2018 California Credit Union Teacher Grant program is now available. California Credit Union will award 10 grants of $500 each to teachers within Los Angeles County. Grant Opportunity for Charter Schools to Implement and Enhance Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) was awarded a large grant to implement and enhance Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) statewide to support students’ academic, behavioral and social success.
