CCSA's Annual Conference held March 16-19, 2015 at the Sacramento Convention Center is the premiere networking and professional development event for charter school professionals.

8:15-9:15 am: Book Signing with two outstanding authors--

  • Joel Klein, former chancellor of New York City Department of Education and author of Lessons of Hope, How to Fix our Schools

  • Juan Williams, FOX News political analyst and best-selling author will be signing Eyes on the Prize, America's Civil Rights Years 1954-1965

8:30-9:30 am: CCSA will be serving a hot breakfast at our 2nd Annual Networking Breakfast--meet new colleagues and discuss the hottest topics in education reform.

9:30-10:30 am: FOX News political analyst and best-selling author Juan Williams will moderate a panel discussion on Brown v. Board of Education entitled, How Do Charter Schools Address the Vision of Brown. Panelists include the former chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, Joel Klein, Russlynn Aliof Emerson Collective, Ana Ponce, CEO of Camino Nueveo Academy and Assemblymember Shirley Webber. The panel will explore the state of charter schools, their impact on student achievement, the relevance of Brown v. Board of Education to a movement focused on closing the achievement gap, and a call to action for charter school leaders and staff to continue the legacy of Brown in their schools. The last portion of the panel will provide an opportunity for Q&A from the audience.

10:45 am-Noon: 13 Breakout Sessions on Prop 39, School Design, Blended Learning, High Effective Teaching Practice and more.

12:00-12:15 pm: Power Up Snack Break--We know you've been here for a week and that you're both energized and exhausted. We're providing snacks to keep you moving for the rest of the afternoon--enjoy.

12:30-1:45 pm: 11 Breakout Sessions on Science Instruction, Funding, Human Resources, Project Based Learning, Running for Office, Special Education and Student Admissions and Lotteries
