CCSA submits letter to Superintendent Torlakson regarding SB 740 concerns
August 9, 2012 We have heard from many members about problems with receiving SB 740 (Charter School Facility Grant Program) funding in a timely manner and have been working with Superintendent Torlakson and his staff at the California Department of Education (CDE) non-stop on this important issue. This funding provides assistance with rent and lease costs for charter schools serving high proportions of economically disadvantaged students. In response to the critical need for immediate improvements to this program, we submitted a letter to Superintendent Torlakson earlier this week outlining our concerns.
