CCSA Launches 20th Anniversary Website
August 3, 2012 This September marks 20 years of quality, choice, and innovation in California's public schools! In September of 1992, Governor Pete Wilson signed the California Charter Schools Act, paving the way for the charter movement to truly reinvent public education.
To celebrate this milestone, CCSA recently launched the 20th anniversary-themed website, which includes:
- profiles of key individuals and schools, with more profiles coming throughout the year;
- an interactive timeline of the first 20 years of the movement;
- an area devoted entirely to the 20th Annual California Charter Schools Conference; and
- a section that will include upcoming 20th anniversary events
The website has several goals - the foremost being to enhance awareness and support of the charter movement. The inclusion of milestones, events and profiles all highlight how the movement has evolved and why it is successful today. The site also provides resources that can engage different communities in the celebration.
Is there a person or an institution that you would like to see profiled on the website? Please email your recommendations to anniversary@ccsa.org.
Here's to the next 20 years!
