CCSA Answers: Accessing Planning and Implementation Grant Funding
August 6, 2012
Question: My charter school currently serves grades K-8. We are adding grades 9-12. Will we qualify for the PCSG with expanding grades, or are we required to create a separate high school?
Answer: Only applicants that have an approved charter for a newly established charter school that has not yet opened, or that have been open for no more than one school year, qualify for funding from the PCSG program. If the charter school has already received a grant or is operating in its second year or later, it cannot apply again for PCSG funding. In your situation, you would need to create a new charter school with a new CDS code to qualify.
