Bessie Minor Swift Foundation
Funding to support programs that provide direct service to help with the implementation or expansion of programs that promote: literacy for children who are below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading; development of reading and writing skills at all age levels; languages, STEM and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) for preschool, primary and secondary school-aged students.
Eligibility: Must be a 501c3 or 170(c) organization. Preference is given to organizations based in communities where there are daily or weekly Swift Communications publications. A listing of these communities can be found at www.swiftcom.com under the "Communities" tab.
Deadline: February 15, 2019
Award amount: Up to $3,000
