2017 Disaster Relief Initiative Grant
Funding to assist school libraries that were damaged by the wildfires to rebuild their book collections.
Eligibility: Any school serving K-12 students that sustained damage during the California wildfires to their dedicated space in which books and other materials are systematically classified, arranged by subject, type, etc. and stored in a location and manner that allows access to all students and adults in the school. The school must have a paid staff member, preferably a certified librarian (although other staff members designated by the school administration may qualify) who is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and operation of the school library. Classroom sets, book collections stored in closets, on rolling carts or outside of the school library, are not eligible.
Award Amount: Up to $75,000
