This report, which focuses on charter schools in Denver and Milwaukee, finds that the school choice process for parents of special needs children can be more complex. Additionally, the qualities that parents of special needs children look for in school vary widely because of the variation in what each child needs, and parents of special needs children want their children to be wanted by the school, and not viewed as different.
